Join the policy session of the Wetlands in Action webinar series
Following four successful sessions, the Wetlands in Action webinar series returns with its fifth edition, continuing to explore how science, innovation, and cross-project collaboration are advancing wetland restoration across Europe.
This webinar series is jointly organised by the Horizon Europe sister projects ALFAwetlands, RESTORE4Cs, REWET, and WET HORIZONS. Together, these initiatives aim to strengthen knowledge exchange and showcase complementary approaches to wetland restoration, monitoring, and climate mitigation.
The fifth session, entitled “From Policy to Practice: Unlocking Wetland Restoration through Markets, Regulation and Communities”, will focus on how policy frameworks, market mechanisms, and community engagement can help accelerate wetland restoration efforts across Europe.
The webinar will feature contributions from four experts actively working at the intersection of science, policy, and wetland restoration:
- Mark Reed – SRUC (WET HORIZONS)
- Caspar Verwer – IUCN NL (REWET)
- Jan Peters – Michael Succow Stiftung (ALFAwetlands)
- María del Mar Otero Villanueva – University of Málaga (RESTORE4Cs)

The webinar will take place online on 21st April 2026, from 10:00 to 11:30 (CEST). Participation is free of charge, but registration is required.
